sparring : self evaluation

the entire process of this test is new to me.
obviously.
personally, i have always had a problem being judged.
but, in a test such as this, there's no way around that, and its at the point you realize this, where it will come in handy to start judging YOURSELF a little more honestly.

lets take sparring.

in the 4 years i've been doing this, i cant think of a single person who has sparred more than myself.
in the early times, i would gas after 2 rounds, my breathing was horrible. i had no technique, every round was a bar fight.
over time, i brought myself to the point where i am now.

where i feel i am at , and this is me being honest...

...is a street fighter with muay thai skills.
i have good defense.
i have a real good understanding of muay thai strikes and the ability to let them go.
i believe i have proper footwork.
i have a good gameplan every time i spar, and i know how to execute it. i am comfortable letting you fire off first, and work as a counter striker.
i am comfortable taking the lead and being aggressive.

but,
i brawl.
this has always been my style of fighting.
since LONG before i stepped in a dojo and put on gloves.
it will or would have come in handy if i were ever to be in a confrontation in the streets, but this test isn't being held in an alley.
this is muay thai, and technique is a HUGE part of it.
and a HUGE part of technique is detail.
this is something i need to work on.

i was told to " fight less big "
at first i was like "huh?"
and then, i thought of those elephants swimming, and i got off track... but i know what i need to do.

thanks for reading.
